January 20, 2017–Personnel Staffing Inc. in Albertville is helping local job providers fill empty positions, while providing jobs for countless Marshall County citizens.
According to Regional Manager Stacey Rains, PSI works closely with the human resource departments at companies calling Marshall County home to fill much needed positions with Marshall County citizens needing work.
“We work closely with the top employers in the Marshall county area,” Rains said. “Our focus is to give back to the community. We want to provide citizens in the area with jobs in this area. The companies are looking for employees. So why would you not want to employ people who live in this area? We want to support Marshall County.”
The various companies using PSI to fill their open staff positions typically offer temporary to full-time employment. PSI provides jobs in heavy production, light production and even clerical for around 450 citizens a week.
Rains said they are looking for hard workers who want a career.
“We are looking for people who want a career,” she said. “A lot of our jobs are temporary to full-time employment opportunities. Once they’ve worked their liquidation times, they can roll over to full-time with the company. There, they can reap the benefits of full-time employment.”
As for what PSI and the job market is requiring, Rains said hard work and dedication is a must. Every employee of PSI is required to pass a drug test and a criminal background check. According to personnelstaffing.com, a PSI representative chooses employees specifically for the assigned job, so each employee is expected to perform the job to the best of their ability, while working the required hours and shifts. Rains added that although the process seems impersonal, they strive to fill the gap between the employee and the company.
“This week our check count was 437,” Rains said. “That’s just a week. We take applications everyday. We are always looking for dependable employees who want to work, not someone who just wants a check to get them through the week.
“We’ve been in business for 36 years. I’ve been with the company for 23. I have a passion for what I do. I like to help people. We have grown that bridge.
“Our clients treat our employees just like they do their full-time employees.”
According to Rains, PSI also strives to take care of dedicated employees. The company’s website notes that PSI provides five insurance options to employees, including dental and vision. If a job assignment doesn’t end up providing a future full-time position with the company, they will locate another assignment for employees in good standing after proper notification is made.
“We have 14 different locations,” Rains said. “We are one of the largest independently owned staffing agencies in Northeast Alabama. We have the best employees and companies around. We haven’t gotten where we are by treating our employees and the companies we work with poorly. We are fortunate to have these partnerships.”
